As a Support Worker, I am committed to empowering individuals with disabilities by assisting them with daily tasks and fostering their independence. My work involves helping clients access community resources and participate in activities that enhance their overall well-being.
I bring a deeply personal understanding to my role, having provided full-time care for my father for 11 years following a severe spinal cord injury, a broken hip, and a heart condition. This experience taught me the importance of constant, compassionate supervision and attention to quality of life. More recently, I have supported my mother through her journey with a terminal illness, assisting with chemotherapy treatments, transportation, and medication administration.
My philosophy is centered on empowerment, compassion, and inclusivity. I believe every individual has inherent value and potential. My mission is to support those I work with in fostering independence, ultimately creating an environment where everyone can thrive within a diverse and supportive community.
I want the people I support and their families to know that I am a good listener who values open communication. I believe in creating a supportive atmosphere where we can share both serious moments and light-hearted fun. Compassion is at the heart of what I do, as I strive to connect with individuals on a personal level and make a positive impact in their lives. One small way I do this is by greeting everyone with a warm smile and a friendly hello to set a positive tone for our time together.
A favourite memory from my time at Bridges Alliance was a river cruise with a client. As we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and playful wildlife, we shared laughter and stories, creating a genuine bond. Seeing my client’s face light up with joy made the day special—it was about connecting, fostering independence, and making lasting memories together.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, crocheting and knitting, decorating cakes, and relaxing. What I like most about working at Bridges Alliance is the team; the staff I work with are absolutely amazing, and we work together with genuine care.

I support participants at Bridges Alliance to build their independence and confidence in daily life. I assist with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and community access, while encouraging participants to develop their daily living skills and achieve their individual goals. I also provide emotional support and ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
I hold a Diploma in Mental Health, which supports my approach to providing compassionate and informed care.
My approach is centred on respect, independence, and empowerment. I support participants to build confidence and skills while making their own choices. I use clear communication, stay patient, and create a positive, supportive environment where they feel valued and motivated.
The most important thing I want the people I support and their families to know is that I genuinely care. I am patient, calm, and a good listener, and I always treat everyone with respect and dignity. I am committed to creating a safe, positive environment while making everyday activities meaningful and enjoyable. One small way I do this is by making participants their favourite drinks, sharing a joke, and talking about things they enjoy.
A favourite memory from my time at Bridges Alliance was accompanying a client overseas to support him in attending his daughter's wedding. It was a privilege to be part of such a significant family moment and to help make that experience possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching soccer, learning latte art, trying different restaurants, and hiking. I also make great coffee and can even do a bit of latte art!
What I like most about working at Bridges Alliance is the strong teamwork and supportive environment, with a clear focus on participant choice and independence.
To me, our mission of "helping people enjoy a life of connection and fulfilment" means helping participants live life to the fullest by supporting their independence, encouraging social connections, and making sure they have opportunities to do things that matter to them every day.
