NDIS Quality Supports Program: What It Means for You
The NDIA has launched a new program to make sure every NDIS participant gets quality services that also offer value for money. This involves trialling new ways of doing things with a select group of providers across the country.
Bridges Alliance is here to help you understand what these changes mean and how they could lead to better supports for you or the person you care for. We can help you navigate your plan and connect with providers who are committed to quality.
Here’s a breakdown of the different parts of the program, which started in 2025.
New NDIS Pilots
1. Supported Independent Living (SIL) Pilot
This pilot looks at how SIL supports are delivered. For 12 months, the NDIA is working closely with 44 SIL providers from across Australia (see the full list below) to understand:
- What makes a quality SIL service? This includes the costs involved and the real outcomes for participants.
- What are the challenges? Providers have been sharing their experiences in workshops, talking about the common difficulties in delivering quality SIL.
- What works well? The NDIA has already spoken with about 50 participants, families, and carers to hear about their positive experiences and how they work with providers when issues come up.
The information gathered will help the NDIA review and improve its SIL pricing, ensuring it supports both participant choice and quality service delivery. A second round of the SIL pilot is planned after this one finishes.

2. Support Coordination (SC) Pilot
This pilot focuses on Support Coordination. Three providers have been selected to work with the NDIA for 12 months. The goal is to understand what quality support coordination looks like and the costs involved in providing this important service.
The NDIA expects more support coordinators to join this pilot soon.
Real Value
3. Therapy Pilot
This pilot is all about therapy supports. 27 registered providers are sharing in $20 million in grant funding to help the NDIA understand the features of a high-quality therapy service and what it costs to deliver.
Over the next 12 months, the findings will be used to help shape future NDIS pricing for therapies. This ensures that pricing is fair, supports a skilled workforce, and leads to good outcomes for participants. You can find more on the NDIA's Three-Year Pricing Workplan for a full picture of their planned improvements.
